The CertHE Public Health with Foundation Year is designed for students who want to begin or return to higher education and develop knowledge and skills relevant to public health, health and social care, community wellbeing and related professions.
The programme begins with a supportive Foundation Year that helps students develop the academic, communication, digital and study skills required for university-level education. Students then progress to Level 4 of the Certificate of Higher Education in Public Health.
Throughout the programme, students explore contemporary health issues and examine how lifestyle, society, the environment and other wider determinants can affect individual and community wellbeing. Students also develop critical thinking, research, communication and collaborative-working skills relevant to healthcare and public-health environments.
The course is particularly suitable for mature learners, applicants returning to education and individuals interested in developing a career within health, social care, public health or community wellbeing.
